Design of Tesla Turbine Mechanical Engineering Project Report

The Design of Tesla Turbine project is about the Tesla turbine which is a bladeless turbine with centripetal flow controlled by Nikola Tesla. It is defined like a bladeless turbine since it utilizes boundary layer in a common turbine.

The Tesla turbine is also called the cohesion-type turbine, boundary layer turbine, and Prandtl layer turbine. Bioengineering scientists have mentioned it like a centrifugal pump of multiple disks.

There were two kinds of engines in the starting of 20th century namely bladed turbines and piston engines. Bladed turbines work with motion of water or steam produced from hot water and piston engines function by gases generated with the gasoline combustion. The former is a kind of reciprocating engine and rotary engine. These engines were confused machines which were tough and required lot of time to form.

The new engine of Tesla is in the form of bladeless turbine that utilizes fluid like the energy vehicle and yet will be more effective to transform fluid energy into motion.

As per Nikola Tesla, there are three important effective objective points of turbine. They are inlet nozzle, disk geometry, and outlet nozzle. There are two important components in the turbine. They are rotor and stator.

Conclusion:

The aim of Mechanical Engineering Project Report an engine transforms energy into mechanical energy from the fuel source. The input energy taken is a fluid if at all natural means is coal, air, water, or petroleum. As a result, the liquids and gases are fluids that could be demonstrated with water. The water in the form of liquid, gases, or steam works like a fluid.
