Technical Seminar on Video Streaming Over Internet

Introduction to Video Streaming Over Internet:

When a video request is asked by the user from webpage that contain video, then it should be transferred to him, or he must be able to see the video. This comprises two points, standard of the video compressed and internet transport protocol.

Compression of video done in mainly four 4 types: h.261, h.263, MJPEG and MPEG.

MJPEG standard: for this type of compression jpeg is used for image compression. It also works on photographs, naturalistic or artwork.

MPEG standard: it is used to compress both video and image. They are also in three standards: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-3.

Internet transport protocol:  they consist of 6 parts: TCP, RTSP, UDP, RTP, VDP, and RSVP.

TCP transmission protocol: TCP is generally used for reliable document transfer. This is secure. If in case packets are deleted or destroyed then transmission will be stopped until the original document is received again.

UDP user datagram protocol: this feature is used by real player, stream works and VDO live. UDP checks the TCP connection for error and it drops the packet if they are late or destroyed or damaged.  When it occurs you can see a dropout and you will be able to hear the dropout, but the stream will not stop.

Compression technique: basically there are two compression techniques widely used.

–          MPEG compression

–          Wavelet compression

Stream works is the product that uses MPEG compression and VDO live is the product that uses wavelet compression.

Conclusion:  today generation like to stream video from internet instead of downloading. It is kept on attracting its new customers or participants. Stream is very easy way to watch video without any problem.   This has great characteristics in commercial products.
