MS Dissertation Project on QOS for Voice and Video in MANET

1 Aim

The main aim of this project is to evaluate the quality of service requirements for voice and video applications and improve them across MANETs

1.2  Objectives

The main objectives of this research process are

  • To analyze the information on overview of Mobile Adhoc Networks
  • To critically review the QoS requirements for voice and video applications across MANETs and evaluate the key findings and limitations
  • To design four scenarios, where the first two scenarios deals with improving the quality of voice application in terms of audibility and quality of speech and second two scenarios deal with multimedia and voice conferencing applications
  • To create the designed scenarios using OPNET modeler and test the scenarios against the simulation metrics
  • To evaluate the resultant graphs and compare the corresponding scenarios against the QoS requirements for voice and video applications
  • To conclude the work done and suggest few recommendations

Rationale

The actual rationale and justification of the research process is that it identifies the different problems that take place in the mobile Adhoc-networks. As the main aim of this project is to estimate quality of service requirements for voice and video applications, 6 important scenarios are created. First three scenarios are created for voice applications using three routing protocols like AODV, DSR and TORA. Similarly 3 more scenarios are created for video applications using the same routing protocols and the detailed simulation procedure
