The objectives of Fuel Injection in the Compression Ignition Engine Project are to adjust the meter as per the fuel quantity based on the accuracy of engine. It delivers the fuel in multi-cylinder engine. The fuel is injected at the exact time in the cycle. The fuel is injected at the appropriate rate. The fuel is injected with the spray method and enough atomization by the model of the combustion chamber and to give correct penetration. The injection starts and finishes without trickling.
The fuel should be supplied by particular nozzles to make the appropriate atomization degree in the combustion chamber such that it dissolves with enough air for entire combustion in the available time. The output quantity should be properly monitored in the cylinder of engines to examine the balance b/w the cylinders.
The injection time and the pressure increment with the size of the engine size. The small direct injection (DI) engines possess 25 degrees crank travel. Engines need to have limited exhausted NOx emissions and require shorter injection time with large injection pressures.
There are two important systems in fuel-injection systems. They are air injection and solid or airless injection systems. The systems of mechanical, airless, or solid injection include three kinds. They are individual pump system, distribution system, and common rail system. There are three filters mentioned in this Fuel Injection in the Compression Ignition Engine Project Presentation. They are primary stage, secondary stage, and final stage.
Conclusion:
The fuel injection reserves fuel into the engine at appropriate metered in regard to the power needed with full speed and the engine gives exhaust noise, power for fuel consumption, emissions , and smoke.
