Introduction to File Systems Project:

The aim of this file system is to describe what is a file and it allocation and access methods and structure of a file. Basically file is a collection of similar data, collection of records and similar documents. The files have different data structures that all accessed by a common method which is in built in file system. The order of arrangement of file is based on how the program by which it is created. The files can be accessed by the user by specifying the name, extension and period. If taken image file like charu.jpg it is identified by name first called charu and the name first and extension jpg it indicates an image file and the operating system finds an appropriate program to open it. It is generally opened by default image viewer.

Access Methods:

                             There are two access methods

  • Sequential
  • Random

Sequential:

                        In this method writing are reading the file is done one after another in a sequential manner. If the transaction is processing against master file then the two files must have their record in same sequence.

Random:

                     In this method reading or writing a file is unordered that is random manner. This method provides fast accessing of a file. For the location of desired file the location should be given to operating system Based on address generation index the file was accessed easily.

Directory structure:

                   The secondary memory hard disk is partitioned into two or more disks. Each partition contains information about the files that present in it. This information is added to VTOC volume table information.

Logical structure of directory:

  • Single-Level Directory
  • Two-Level Directory
  • Tree-Structure Directory

Introduction to Minor Project on File Search Engine:

The aim of this project is search the all files with in the computer. It is developed using Java Development Kit and net bean. The software provides various features like it provides location of files and also files with similar names this would be helpful if the correct name of the file is unknown the user can also search the file by specifying the extensions like. Avi, .mp4, .doc, .exe. The software also provides help in finding a file by typing any part of the string .It also provides various possible names when the user searches for a file. Anyone can use this software with basic computer knowledge and it is user-friendly software.

Scope:

It is a standard alone application software so it can cover huge users. The computers that are using this software have access to all files that stored in secondary memory (Hard Disk).   This software can even run on a system with lower configuration without internet connection. There is no need of knowing exact file name or extension.

MRC or Multiple Routing Configuration is a new innovative technique through which perform a recovery process fast and effective after a node failure. 

Performance are analyzed by MRC by considering 

  • Scalability
  • Lengths of the backup path
  • Distribution of loads 

In cases of net traffic, MRC will reduce the congestion by recovering the traffic and improving its distribution. In the present network the traffic congestion is not managed properly as the work load is mainly relying upon link weights in many cases. Most connections throw light only on the cases where no failures happen.

In the case of load balancing, a better optimization can be obtained with the proposed MRC system as it has a very simple and effective approach.  The recovery is almost guaranteed on scenarios where single failure happens, MRC do this by managing the node and link failures under single mechanism. As this technique is sans a connection and uses hop by hop forwarding technique which are destination based for the assumption. During the diagnosis, if MRC detects a failure an additional routing information are maintained specifically which enables the forwarding of the packet to flow on that alter link without any delay

This process enhances the quality of inspection by recommending the re-inspection process to be done. The Software firms and other organizations must include the Inspection process to inspect the software. The Inspection Process still has to be made cost effective. 

The software requirement for the Inspection tool development are Windows 2000/ XP operating system, XML, HTML, DHTML for the front end program, J2EE program for the middleware, Oracle 8i program for the backend, Web Logic 6.1 Server. The system is designed like this it contains 3 main modules known as the Super user, the administrator and the Student. The work of the Super user to regulate the data which is processed by the administrator. The administrator has job to edit, modify and answer the queries of the question asked by the students. The students are the last user who uses the system to ask their questions. 

The system works by getting the new query from the student that has been added in the database and can be viewed by the administrator. The database stores and identifies the type of query and make available to the administrator. 

The Existing System 

The existing system have various problems as it cannot handle the more students and their questions to a related faculty, it also cannot maintain the huge number of frequently asked questions  for the use of students. 

The Proposed System 

The Proposed system is called the Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management System. 

The Proposed system has all features from super user to control over the database to the administrator for answering queries and maintaining the frequently asked questions for the students. The student query has been sent to the related faculty and then gets the answer which is done by the administrator and again sent to student. 

The Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management System is developed by programming language J2SDK 1.4, Oracle 10g database, Operating system Windows 2000. The hardware includes Intel Pentium IV Processor 2 GHz, 256 – 512 MB RAM, 40 – 80 GB hard disk.

Introduction to Design and Implementation of Sip for Multistreaming Applications Project:

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is for the signaling protocol used for the preparation and differentiation of the Multimedia type of communications like voice calls and video calls in the field of Internet. The possible applications are like video conferencing, streaming of multimedia distributions, online games, emails etc. The SIP has applications like creation, modification, termination of the two way party or Unicast and Multiparty or Multicast areas of more than one media fields. 

The Proposed topic constitutes of developing the applications for the text and file transfer, voice and video conference by the use of SIP along with proxy server system. The SIP signaling is based on the pattern of Server- Client which uses protocols HTTP or SMTP. The requirement of the project includes the Internet phone or soft phone. The Internet phone applies the Session Initiation Protocol or Media Gateway Protocol (MeGaCo).

The SIP phone consists of the VoIP phone. The Soft Phone runs on the personal computer and does not need any special device. The soft Phone enhances the quality and similar to the normal phone along with head set or can be used with the USB device. The applications of SIP phone includes Voice conference, IP contact, IP phone system, FAX on the IP, Video conference, Call monitoring. 

The modules is needed to develop are

  1. User Agent Client or UAC which develops the conclusion and transfer to the servers.
  2. User Agent Server or UAS which receives the requests and process that requests to create response. 

The system has to be developed in the Linux 2.6 kernel operating system, ANSIC, GCC compiler, GDB debugging tool. The hardware requirements are  2 personal computers, 512 MB RAM, CPU with 2.2 GHz or above, LAN connection.
