CIVIL Project on Design And Development Of Shake Table

This  CIVIL Project on Design And Development Of Shake Table report is about the shake table. Its start with introduction of the shaking table and continued explaining about mechanisms, kinematic arrangement used concept and analysis, the design procedure, along with the designing of various components of the shake table. It also explains the assembly, mathematical modelling, simulation, and analysis of the various motions of the model with the help of PRO-Engineering Analysis Software. The design of the shake table is completely described in this report. This includes the simulation and the analysis of the working model. The analysis is done by very sophisticated software and with precision.

Building in earthquake country can be a tricky business. Architects and engineers run simulations using models and shake tables to test the integrity of buildings and determine necessary reinforcements. There are different experimental techniques that can be used to test the response of structures to verify their performance, one of which is the use of an earthquake shaking table this is a device for shaking structural models or building components with a wide range of ground motions, which takes place in the building structure at the time of earthquake. The exact simulation of earthquake motion has been a challenge to engineers and researchers. Shake table testing is being increasingly used in earthquake engineering research centres worldwide, as it is the only available means of nearly truly reproducing the dynamic effects that earthquakes impose on structures. Finally the report gives future scope of the project is to manufacture the model with the dimensions.

Conclusion:

Designing of  shaking table which produces vibrations in horizontal as well as in vertical direction. This is used for the analysis of the vibrations in a structure at the time of earthquake. Architects and engineers run simulations using models and shake tables to test the integrity of buildings and determine necessary reinforcements and to study dynamic structural behaviour. This will be the device for shaking the structural models or building components prototypes, with a wide range of simulated ground motions.

Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Coconut Shell as Coarse Aggregates

The Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Coconut Shell as Coarse Aggregates CIVIL Project aims at analyzing flexural and compressive strength characteristics of concrete produced using crushed, granular coconut as substitutes for conventional coarse aggregate with partial replacement using M30 grade concrete. Beams are casted, tested and their physical and mechanical properties are determined.

The main target area is to promote the use of these ‘seemingly’ waste products as construction materials in low-cost housing. It is also expected to serve the purpose of encouraging housing developers in investing these materials in house construction. The outcomes of an investigation carried out on the comparative cost analysis and strength characteristics of concrete produced using crushed, granular coconut and palm kernel shells as replace for conventional coarse aggregate.

The properties of concrete using coconut shell as coarse aggregate were investigated in an experimental study. Compressive, flexural, splitting tensile strengths, impact resistance and bond strength were measured and compared with the theoretical values as recommended by the standards. For the selected mix, two different water–cement ratios have been considered to study the effect on the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and impact resistance of coconut shell concrete. The bond properties were determined through pull-out test. Coconut shell concrete can be classified under structural lightweight concrete. The results showed that the experimental bond strength of coconut shell concrete is much higher than the bond strength..After studying the strength/economy ratio, it was Decide that coconut shells were more suitable than palm kernel shells when used as replace for conventional aggregates in concrete production.

Conclusion:

The experimental Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Coconut Shell as Coarse Aggregates results of four beams, two each in CS and the NWC. The comparison of mechanical properties and structural behaviour of the NWC and CS beams. The crack width, deflection, ultimate strength, concrete and steel strains are analyzed and compared for both beams. Based on the results, the following conclusions may be drawn: The overall flexural behaviour of reinforced PKSC beams used in this study closely resembles that of equivalent beam made with NWC are presented in this project report.

Alternate And Low Cost Construction Materials And Techniques CIVIL Project Report

This Alternate And Low Cost Construction Materials And Techniques CIVIL Project Report is about Civil Engineering Diploma on alternate and low cost construction materials and techniques. The project provides information about the low cost construction materials, their uses and types of the techniques that helps to reduced cost of construction.

This civil Engineering project reports start with introduction to Council for Works and Housing (CWHR) and its efforts which is an R & D organization under the aegis of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The project stresses the importance of implementation of scientific research on problems related to different types of civil engineering structures such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, harbours, treatment plants etc.

This report also explain the efforts of CWHR in R & D work for the development of durable, economical and innovative materials for the construction industry with focus on the utilization of local, indigenous techniques and materials for import substitution of construction inputs.

Low cost construction material:

The report consists of pictorial representation of different low cost construction material which can be used to build houses. Such as: Rice Husk Ash, Blast Furnaces Slag, soil Cement Stabilized Blocks for Masonry walls.

It also speaks about the importance of low cost housing unit and its components. Finally the report explain about the model room, which is constructed by using wheat straw concrete block masonry for load bearing walls with lightweight R.C.C. Tile Batten-Roofing system.

Conclusion:

This Alternate And Low Cost Construction Materials And Techniques CIVIL Project  report provides a better and an efficient way to reduced the cost of construction. The report shows the types of construction which are economical and thermally comfortable for rural houses.

The construction is simple, low cost and can be constructed on self help basis. This project also shed light on cement replacement and their cost reduction with its utilization, materials and techniques.
