An access point is created that is the bridge between the station and the client or user. This network is just like a telephone network. It is based on the two modes: ad hoc mode and infrastructure mode. Ad hoc modes are those user communicate directly and more than one user can connect to the peer connections. Wi-Fi doesn’t have limited range. Its range can be increased according to the requirement and the area where it is used. Its range can be from 500 feet to 1000 acres or more. It also depends on the type and quality of the antenna.
WEP: it is the algorithm used for the purpose of encryption. In this we have key or password that is entered both the side for the connection. Data are encrypted at the server side and again decryption at the client side.
