4G Wireless System Introductions

Introduction to 4G Wireless System:

4G or 4th generation mobile communication technology is the most ultramodern technology available in market. Unlike its predecessors 4G technology is much faster, secure and dependable. 4G is not only restricted to mobile wireless communication systems, 4G technology is used in Tablets, PC’s, Gaming Consoles and even in television. User demands are met without any hitches making them satisfied to the core.

The main disadvantage or shortcoming of the current system is its inability to handle large data as it lacks a large bandwidth. 3G technology is a mere upgrade from its predecessors while 4G is an altogether unique concept. As mentioned earlier 4G can be connected to a large no: of devices and a smooth data management is ensured.

Main features of 4G technology is described as an abbreviation called MAGIC:

  • Mobile Multimedia
  • Anytime Anywhere
  • Global Mobility Support
  • Integrated Wireless Solution
  • Customized Personal Service

4G is still not available in full form here in India, although Airtel has launched it in few metros. The main reason of the mobile service provider’s reluctance to adapt this technology is the lack of 4G capable handsets in the mobile market. Also the cost of a 4G sim card would be higher than the 3G or 2G versions repelling the customers. Time division multiple access and Code division multiple access are the current transmission technologies used in mobile phones. Each adapts different technology and work in entirely different way.

4G Hardware includes an ultra wideband device which transforms the signal into a desired frequency spread across a spectrum and multiple smart antennas such as switched beam and adaptive array. The software for 4G is flexible enough for incorporating national and international roaming and the network switching can be done with much ease. The IPv6 or the 6th generation of the internet protocol has a large area for address spaces leaving the communication to be much clearer and faster. Various encryption methods are used to encrypt data through the network.

4g Wireless System Seminar Report

Introduction to 4g Wireless System Seminar Topic:

The current generation wants everything at lightning speed, all thanks to the advance in technology. Nowadays mobile phones are not only used for only calling purpose, it is also used for surfing the net, transfer large multimedia messages, video chat and much more. For an uninterrupted flow of data, a speed rich internet connection is required.  In India particularly 3G technology has become a huge rage and it popularity has reached an ultimate peak, still it is sad to know that the providers are reluctant in bringing 4G technology to the market.

This may be due to many reasons; lack of handsets in the mobile phone market that supports 4G is one major reason. The high cost with which the 4G connection comes with is another major drawback that repels users from embracing the new technology. 4G is currently the major thing in wireless mobile communication technology. The ever demanding user requirement would be met profusely and the network would be more than capable of handling large amount of data transfers and sharing. Most mobile phone manufactures like Apple, Samsung etc. make high quality phones but the reality is that most of them are useless without fast mobile broadband wireless internet.

The current technology with limited bandwidth and analog modems is unable to handle data services at a large rate. There are many drawbacks to a 3G system from the client and network provider’s prospective, the major one being it is just an upgrade from the earlier technology which supported voice transfer only.

The two major transmission technologies are:

  • Time division multiple access or TDMA
  • Code division multiple access or CDMA

The 4G hardware mainly consists of ultra wide band technology which provides large bandwidth, smart antennas such as switched beam antenna, adaptive array antenna etc., whereas the software is based mainly on the merging of WLAN or Wireless LAN technology & the mobile technology. Software Defined Radio or SDR is to switch network operators. The sixth version of the internet protocol is used to trace the devices. All data’s would be safe and secure as it would be encrypted.

4g Technology Paper Presentation

Introduction to 4g Technology Paper Presentation:

We live in a world which are mostly bound without wires, i.e. nowadays wireless technology has taken an unprecedented importance over wired technology in today’s era. The most important example of this is the mobile phone boom across the world; mobiles have surpassed the land line wired telephones in number.

With each passing generation the technology is getting more and more advanced. It all started with 1G which dealt with minimal service which was speech, then came 2G which offered transfer of data with slow speed in addition. 3G is the current hot property in marker, with blazing data transfer speeds which includes large multimedia files.

4G is the latest offering in terms of mobile technology, the user gets all the perks as they can use & control this technology easily and effectively. With more and more mobile towers popping up, the availability of signals isn’t a problem resulting in reaching out to a large no: of customers and handling a large no: of data. Security should not be compromised at all and 4G is the safest technology to date.

The key entities in a 4G set up are the user, mobile terminal, paging agent, access router, QoS broker, AAAC System, Network Management System etc.  One of the main advantages of a 4G network is its network interoperability and to ensure the data remains confidential for the user and for the network provider, the movability across various terminals and through various technologies. Smooth management of data traffic is another pro of this technology; the QoS will ensure the uninterrupted flow of data.

QoS will also ensure that the quality of service provided in this technology is top notch. The network provider controls all resources of a network while the applications and local network are managed by the user. A service layer is defined which operates across various admin domains which in turn holds of many technological domains. The user requests are handled by one of these domains.

Internet Usage And Security CSE Seminar Topic

Introduction to Internet Usage And Security CSE Seminar Topic:

Internet is a network of interlinked computers spread over the whole world used to transmit data from one place to another and is accessible to general public.

Internet Usage

The application of internet is:-

  1. Gopher: – The Gopher protocol is a TCP/IP application layer protocol basically used for distributing, searching and retrieving documents over the internet. Its main feature is step by step navigation through menus. Its application areas are college campus and nonprofit organization for publication and fun.
  2. FTP: – File transfer protocol is a network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another host. Connection to FTP server can be made using IP address through convention or protocol dialup. FTP users mainly use username and password for authentication.
  3. Usenet: – It is a worldwide used internet discussion system where users read and post messages to one or more categories known as newsgroup. It is distributed in large constantly changing servers that store and forward messages to one another in news feed. The main categories of news group are: – computer, internet news, recreational topic, science related topic, social issues and debates, miscellaneous.
  4. E-mail:- Electronic mail is the widely and commonly used application of internet. E-mail is sending message from one place to another electronically in less than a minute. It is also called store and forward service. Each user is provided with unique e-mail address for their unique identification. One email can be sent to multiple users at a time.
  5. Telnet:- It is a network application which is used to login to computer residing at some other place from another computer over the internet. It requires valid user ID on remote computer to exchange data between two computers over the internet, as it is much faster way of exchanging information. Telnet on Internet access provider is used through conventional dialup and on home computer through protocol dialup. Firstly IP address identify the computer to which you want to connect and ask for valid username and password on computer you reached.

Internet security

When it comes to using internet, security is the main issue. Security on internet is mainly needed to make transaction safer and keep e-mails private. The main risks on internet are

  1. Unauthorized access to the information system  from the outside
  2. Viruses entering into system through exchange of data and information.
  3. Using false identities.
  4. Hacking: – Entering into someone’s computer illegally intended to steal information or for their own benefit. Various methods of hacking are:- Sniffer attack, IP spoofing, send mail attacks, attacks via NIS and NFS.

Internet security can be maintained from following methods:

  1. Authentication: – Providing username and password to users is the authentication. It saves computer from being attacked up to an extent. The reasons for failure of this method are sharing of username and password with the intruder in exchange of money, positions or revenge, password monitoring, fishing password with Trojan horses, analyzing protocol and finding passwords.
  2. Encryption: – It means changing meaningful data into coded format called cipher text so the no one else can understand the data except the sending and receiving party. Two ways of encoding are substituting (changing value with some other value) and transposition (changing position of value with its nearby values). Two aspects of encryption are algorithm and keys.
  3. Firewalls: – It is network component connecting an internal, private corporate network to an external, public network. The benefits if using firewall are:-

a.)    It concentrates risk on single area.

b.)    Monitoring and control systems installed in firewall only.

c.)    Connections monitored and controlled as via firewall.

The limitations of firewall are:-

a.)    Can’t keep out data carried inside applications and prevent the network being penetrated by viruses

b.)    Don’t offer any security against unauthorized physical attacks on an internal computer system

Introduction to Smart Card Technical Seminar Topic:

Smart card is a small computer embedded on a plastic card having a chip which stores and processes data. It is same in size of plastic credit cards. It contains basic information of the bearer. It is basically provided by schools organization to their students and employees. Smart cards are ISO 7816 standard.

Smart card components:-

  1. Carrier: – The basic material of which the card body is made. PVC(Poly vinyl chloride)(all rounder), ABS(Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)(Brittle but withstands higher temperatures) and PETP (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate)(High flexibility) are the few materials used in making the carrier. The carrier should have following features :

a.)    It should be resistant to mechanical failures.

b.)    It should be able to withstand with high temperature.

c.)    It should be pocket friendly.

  1. Processor or CPU:- processors are 8 bit with CISC architecture with clock speed of 5MHz. Following are the reasons for using the above described processors:-

a.)    Card companies want proven modules

b.)    Lower power consumption

c.)    Area limitations.

  1. Memory: – Memory is used to store data or the information of smart card bearer. It can be ROM, RAM, PROM, and EEPROM.  The size may vary according to the requirements and the purpose for which the card is being used.
  2. Input/output interface: – It controls flow of data to and from the card. The flow occurs one bit at a time in a half duplex manner. The typical data flow rate is 9600 bits/ sec.

Smart cards can be used as prepaid telephone cards, mobile telephone, financial cards, health cards, transport cards, for access control, in school and colleges to access and avail various facilities, in organizations for attendance of employees.

The main advantages of using smart cards are that the chip is tamper resistant therefore the data stored on the chip is safe. The information on the card can be pin protected or read write protected therefore no one can change the information and sharing of information is also restricted. Data encryption can be performed for exchanging data more securely. Information can itself be processed using smart cards. Updating of information and application can be easily made.

The disadvantages of using smart cards are security, not all smart cards are secure. The second problem is who hold the responsibility for the card, suppose if the money in account is wiped out because of memory failure or any problem in smart card, who will be held responsible the owner or the bank.

Artificial Vision For Blind People Seminar Report

Introduction to Artificial Vision For Blind People Seminar Topic:

The main aim of this paper is curing blindness. Blindness is the one which is more feared by public. As the technology is advancing the researchers are in a effort to illuminate the dark world of blind. The scientists had made commitment for developing artificial vision system which cures blindness upto some extent.

These researchers are inspired from another device cochlear implant which has successfully restored hearing of thousands of people.  Retina plays a important role in human eye. it consists of rods ,cones and ganglion cells. Information received by rods and cones are transferred to brain by ganglion cells. In the absence of these rods and cones, blindness occurs. This concept laid to the developing of artificial vision system by artificial cones and rods.

Brief into design and working

After carrying many experiments, they found that electrical currents can simulate cells. They developed artificial silicon retina which is very tiny at a diameter of 2mm. This is placed in the eye without disturbing any other parts. The artificial silicon retina consists of 3500 microscopic solar cells through which light is converted into electrical pulses.

The solar cells which are present generates the needed power. The main parts of this system are miniature video camera, a signal processor, and the brain implants. Light enters the camera and data is sent to the wireless wallet sized computer. the computer processes and displays it on the LED screen on goggles .The led screen reflects the image to the artificial silicon retina chip. This chip converts  image into signals that brain can understand.

Latest ECE Seminar Topic 2012 on Advanced Communication through Flesh Redtacton

Introduction on Advanced Communication through Flesh Redtacton:

The main objective of this paper is to give an idea of how our body can act as transmission media. Communication becomes difficult in a busy place where numbers of Bluetooth devices are found. As the technology is advancing day by day redtaction is developed which is different from wireless and infrared, The transmission can be done by using redtaction receiver. Once the human body comes in touch with the receiver, transmission path is formed. Using the body as path for communications more beneficial.

Brief into working :

Redtacton technology does not depend upon electromagnetic or light waves to carry data, it makes use of weak electric fields. The photonic electric field sensor in the transmitter induces the weak electric field on the body. The weak electric field generated is not same as the natural electric field which dissipates into earth.

The receiver comprises of photonic electric field sensor and electro optic crystal. Use of this photonic electric field can measure stand-alone contacts without being influenced by grounds and long distance communication is possible. This receiver senses the electric field generated through sensors and data is transferred. By using this technology broadband communication can also be done at rate of 10 mbps.

It is proven that Redtaction technology is excellent in terms of communication performance and user convenience when compared to wireless. The data can be transferred securely in this technology and even if the data is encrypted there is possibility to decrypt it if we pick it up.

Seminar Report on MANET

Introduction to MANET Seminar Topic:

Introduction to MANET’s:

MANET are mobile ad hoc networks present in the mobile node which contain a self organizing system which can communicate with the end users without the need of base stations and access points.  This is a wireless communication network where the data gets transmitted to multiple receivers. In this paper we will discuss the working of mobile ad hoc networks and their performance strategies.

Working model of MANET’s:

Mobile ad hoc network work without use of base stations and access points, here they act as both host as well as routers for transfer of data packets. The transfer of data packets is done in a multi hop fashion. This kind wireless communication networks employ a multicasting technique where data can be transferred to multiple receivers at a time. As the data is transmitted simultaneously to multiple receivers the security problems arise due to data rushing attacks. We find different type of attacks like rushing attacks black hole attack and Sybil attack and neighbor attack. The rushing attacks occur due to quick duplicate suppression of packets. The packets get quickly forwarded and finding path or the incoming packets gets delayed. Due to rushing attacks the average succession rate of packets gets affected.

Advantages:

By using multiple ad hoc networks we can transmit data to multiple receivers at a time. As the transfer of data to multiple users is done simultaneously through multicasting the transmission costs gets reduced.  By controlling the rush attacks we can provide secure data transfer without the occurrence of duplicate packets.

CSE Seminar Topic 2012 on The Guidcane With Project Report

Introduction to  The Guidcane Seminar Topic:

Introduction to guide cane:

The main objective of this project is to provide safety for blind people from obstacles. This device ensures safety for the blind while walking. The device is to be carried by blind and when the device senses any obstacle it gives the message through voice processor and accordingly he can move. The entire device is mounted at end of the cane on a wheel which gives the direction from the obstacles.

Circuit design and working:

The ultrasonic waves are transmitted into free space and when these touch the obstacle its gets reflected. The reflected waves are receives by the ultrasonic receiver and generates a algorithm for detection of path. The demodulator is used to process the signal and it gives the processed signal to encoder. From the decoded signal it changes the direction of wheel away from the obstacle. The entire circuit is provided with an rechargeable battery source. The advantage of employing ultrasonic sensors is that we can get immediate detection of obstacle. The device is provided with obstacle sensors to eliminate the errors occurring. But in fast moving conditions errors may occur in algorithms for detection of obstacle.

Advantages:

The device is very helpful for the blind people to go in a exact path without the help of others. Instead of using ultrasonic signals we can also use laser detectors signals detecting obstacles. The signal response for after the detection of obstacle is delayed by 0.2 seconds which is to be overcome. We can even design robot which detects the obstacle and gives the direction through voice processor.
