Seminar Topic and Report on Blue Gene

Introduction to  Blue Gene Seminar Topic:

It is a type of supercomputer developed by IBM and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. It has the speed of 360 teraflop peak of power computing. They are embedded with extremely powerful processors (100 GFLOPS). They contain two 32 bit POWER PC cores.  This systems contains SDRAM-DDR memory, in which node has the maximum memory of 2 GB. The complete system contains 64 cabinets. It means the total memory of the systems has 16 TB of memory. This system support five different types of networks: Torus, Tree, Ethernet, JTAG, and global interrupts.

They basically use Linux Kernel. Blue gene doesn’t have any bios in their nodes. They have POSIX interface created by BLRTS. Messages are passed by point-to=point packet addressing mode. This functionally is provided by daemon called CIOD. They are control I/O daemon. They provide the function of job control. CIOD are used in two scenarios:

Console shell: it is mostly used for simulation and testing purpose. User has limited number of commands.

Job scheduler: it has a special interface that is used to implement the same protocol that is defined in CIOMAN and CIOD.

Blue gene is familiar in programming and they only use standards tools. They have two modes: Linux for I/O nodes and BLRTS for computer nodes. They use parallel programming languages like HPF, because they require regular computation.

For designing the blue gene hardware many types of applications are used like DOE’s NNSA laboratories. This program is the application for blue gene science program, they provide prototyping platform that used to research for application that is suitable for cellular architectures.  It provide simulation environment so we don’t require a hardware for demonstrating the complete and functional software environment.

Seminar Report on Blue Eyes Technology

Our goal is to create such a smart computer that can interact with user, share its emotions and feelings and work with computers together. We have to give the ability to the computer to feel the emotions and also they should have the capability to express the emotions.

Paul Ekman’s performed the experiments by recording the six different types of emotions to different people.  They selected different people to show their feelings like anger, smile, sadness, disgust, joy and surprise.  After that their GSR, heart rate, skin temperature was noted. They all are noted through strap sensors. They are instructed to sit against the computer and perform on the feeling. And according to this feeling all statics were taken.

Magic pointing (manual and gaze input cascade): they utilize the eyes gaze for taking input in computer.  With this technique it becomes the manual task and that is mostly used for fine calculations or manipulations or selections.  There are two specific techniques: conservative and liberal. But this might not work to operate the scroll bars or UI widgets, hyperlinks and side handlers.

In this technique eye is placed on the cursor and when we move the eye and the cursor moves on the screen.

Advantages and disadvantages of MAGIC pointing techniques:

–         Manual operation is reduced and less fatigue operation.

–         They have more practical accuracy level. Its accuracy is fundamentally limited.

–         Speed is less than any manual operation but its speed can be fast.

–         We need to keep the eye on the cursor and sometimes could be distracting when you are reading something.

Implementation: it takes the data from both manual input device and from pointing device. It has tracking speed of 30 HZ and they utilize only gaze information.

CSE Seminar Report on Black Hole

Introduction to Black Hole Seminar Topic:

According to the theory of relativity a black region in the space from which nothing can be escaped including light. It is a just like black body which does not show any reaction with any light or say do not reflect anything on passing light. Around this black hole there is unpredictable area. When any gas falls into the black hole that gas goes in the black hole and then lots of radiation is transferred that can be detected on the earth. There is lots of black hole in the universe.

According to the hair theorem anything that achieves the stable condition after formation, black hole has three only three independent properties: mass, charge and angular momentum. They are usually classified according to the mass, charge or angular velocity.

Photon sphere: any spherical boundary that have zero thickness, such that photons it contain are moving along the sphere. Light are able to cross the photon sphere but they are captured by the black hole.

Ergo sphere:  it is the region outside the event horizon where the bodies are continuously moving. If any which is near the moving object then it will also start moving along the origin.

Gravitational collapse: when the object does not have enough power to hold down its own gravitational force then they collapse itself. This might create black hole.

Quasi-periodic oscillations: they are the material moving along the inner edge of the accretion disk. When the X-ray from accretion creates the flickering around the object at certain frequency then these signals are quasi- periodic signals.

If the collision takes place at higher rate than it also creates the microscopic black holes. Stephen hawking’s said that total area of the hole never decreases whether they merge. And total energy or entropy never decreases.

CSE Seminar Report On Bittorrent

This is very famous and very used for downloading or transferring huge files. It also provides pirates movies and it has everything which we require on the internet. It does not take loads of transferring data because user itself become a server and they download the file from each other. Means bit torrent doesn’t act as a server.

To download any file from bit- torrent we require a bit- torrent software that is available on any website. Then we need to go the torrent official site and enter the query, and then it will give the torrent file of the query. Then take this query file and enter in the bit – torrent software, it will begin downloading automatically and keep downloading continue in the background.

It uses a large number of small servers to download their file. If the server is overloaded due to demand then it will break the file into a number of chunks and then distribute them to the user. Then the user will combine them to form a file again.

When you search for a query then bit-torrent searches the computers of their client who have completed the downloading of that file and then it chose that this reduces the workload on the torrent server. You must configure your firewall to obtain the best speed of downloading.

You need to enable the firewall to accept the incoming request from torrent file otherwise you will not able to download the file. Torrent uses the specific port to reach your computer, which might have been blocked by your firewall.

Downloading speed also depends on the popularity of file, if the file you want to download is very popular then it will have great demand, then it will give a slow speed of downloading.

CSE Seminar Topic on Biometric Authentication System

Introduction to Biometric Authentication System Seminar Topic:

It is the method of authentication based on the biological science. It generally uses pattern matching technique. It utilizes pattern verification like fingerprint matching, iris blood vessel pattern, facial geometry.

Advantages: its features are unique and the level of security is very high. Now are free from remembering password, PINs etc. it has reduced the tension of IT companies, now they have more secure workstations.

Disadvantages: these systems are very costly because of their hardware and software, and their integration to the network is also costly. Few populations don’t trust these systems as they think biometrics copies their fingerprint, but it is not true. It only copies the mathematical statics behind the fingerprint. It consumes more space as it image related to any ID or PASSWORD.

Fingerprint: It uses the pattern that we have on our fingers. This is unique to every person. It is not much used as people don’t have trust in it, they think they might exploit their fingerprint for illegal use.

Hand scan: they use the design of hand. This is not unique as required.

Voice authentication: it has very high acceptability rate than others. It is based on the voice of the user. But it also fails if the person is real and he has a cold then the system might not be able to detect his voice.

Retina and iris scan: it includes the scanning of our eye and retina. They take the pattern image of our blood vessel. It has very high accuracy. It has negligible drawbacks.

Facial recognition: it scans the geometry of human face. This also has the same problem with the privacy. The user doesn’t want to leak their authenticity.

Final Year Seminar Report on Biometric

Introduction to Final Year Seminar Topic on Biometric:

Bio metric means “life measure”. It keeps the identification of the person’s eye, finger print, voice etc. It is used for security reason and it contains all the physical information of the person. For example our driving license is bio metric which contain all the information about physical characteristic. The data of Biometric does not change it keep constant over large period of time. It contains only physical information because it is easy to read.

Bio metric identification system:-It is used to identified person physical characteristics and it can be inditified by finger print identification, in this we match the finger print of the person because it remain same even the person become older. Other is Hand geometry, next is Palm Vein Authentication in which we measure the vein of the person. It uses the infrared rays. Another is Ratina scan, in this we analysis the capillary blood vessel in the back of the eye as the pattern remain same thorough out the life.

Iris scan, it provides the scan of rings, furrows and freckles in the colored of eye that surrounds the pupil. This uses more than 200 points to be analysis. Next is Face Recognition, in this facial characteristic i.e. the shape and size of the face of the person is recognized. Signature matching is the way of identification. Voice matching is also used to identify the person by analyzing the pitchstone, cadence and frequency of the person.

To implement this type of technology many software has been developed for security and business safety.

Related Topic Paper Presentation:

Features and benefits: – It strengthens the security of computer. It can store anything as username and password in websites. It allows multiple authentications. By the use of this technology the data is very secure. It can secure windows and network logon.

Recent CSE Seminar Topics Biometrics Security Systems

Introduction to  Biometrics Security Systems  Seminar Topics:

Hand: they take 3 dimensional of hands and can produce the result in 1.2 seconds. It works as it hand have many combinations like shape of fingers, size of index fingers, fore fingers, thumbs etc. and they all have correlation between them.

Finger print: this is the most widely used technique as every has unique finger print. We have special pattern on our hands, and they are different to all people. This technique is used in the security systems. They are widely used by military and law enforcement.

Eye: it involves the identification of iris and scanning the blood vessels on the retina.  This technique is less used as people avoid eyes scanning.

Speech:  it is attractive technology as it works over our voice verification. Now they are being used in the AT & T smart cards used in the ATMs,

Face: this technique is based on the face pattern matching. They take the image of the whole face for automatic identification.  Face may change due to hairs, pimples and head position, so they take several images at different angles, and mostly they use neural networks for classifying image.

They are used in most of banks for card fraud, telephone transactions, workstations, travel and tourism, internet transactions and now it is also public identity cards like ‘ AADHAR ‘.

Biometrics Security Seminar Report

Introduction to Biometrics Security Seminar Topic:

This is a security system that used pattern matching technique for identification. There are several techniques in biometric systems like a fingerprint, face identification, hand geometry. They are a very useful device in terms of security.

Biometric identification system:-It is used to identified person physical characteristics and it can be identified by fingerprint identification, in this we match the fingerprint of the person because it remains same even the person becomes older. Other is Hand geometry, next is Palm Vein Authentication in which we measure the vein of the person. It uses the infrared rays. Next is Face Recognition, in this facial characteristic i.e. the shape and size of the face of the person are recognized. Signature matching is the way of identification. Voice matching is also used to identify the person by analyzing the pitchstone, cadence, and frequency of the person.

These all methods discussed above are a single method, but single method systems are not able to meet the requirement, so we used the multi-model technique. In this model, several recognition is required like they are used for recognition, fingerprint matching, with speaker verification.

Biometric systems are used for a commercial purpose such as ATM, medical records. They are used by government systems such as national ID card, border control, passport control.

Limitations: they are very noisy or create too much distortion. It might not work if someone fingers print are not properly visible and it also possible to create duplicate fingerprints.
