Data mining has been defined as “the nontrivial extraction of implicit, previously unknown, and potentially useful information from data” and “the science of extracting useful information from large data sets or databases” .Data warehousing is defined as a process of centralized data management and retrieval. Data warehousing represents an ideal vision of maintaining a central repository of all organizational data. Centralization of data is needed to maximize user access and analysis.

Conclusion: The research paper suggests on the note that although there is information explosion there are no highly evolved and secure database management systems going hand in hand so far. The research paper voices out a need for this. Data mining can be beneficial for businesses, governments, society as well as the individual person. However, the major flaw with data mining is that it increases the risk of insecure operations. This can be used for maintaining and evaluation of sales activities. It allows the life advisor to set goals and accomplish them. It is very useful to motivate the advisor to do better, with reference of his previous progress. Internet working is the live-wire of today’s world, it has ushered in a whole new era of evolution, that has brought about a sea of change to this New World.

With the advent of new concepts and technologies, the whole world has been linked into one single cobweb of information. Key to this evolution is the developments of Networking and Information Sharing. The main use of this project has been developed as per the general requirements of an Insurance Advisor. But it is going to be at most customized for the Prudential Insurance Adviser.

Conclusion:

This software can also be used or modified as per the exact requirements of any particular Insurance company’s Insurance Advisor. In this project JSP is used instead of applets because the agent has to send the information to the server and it processes and sends the information to the client. And hence this is an online project.

Active Learning Methods for Interactive Image Retrieval Database Project Report

Description:

The main aim of the Active Learning Methods for Interactive Image Retrieval project is to build a fast and efficient strategy to retrieve the query concept in content-based image retrieval. Human interactive systems have attracted a lot of research interest in recent years, especially for content- based image retrieval systems. Contrary to the early systems, which focused on fully automatic strategies, recent approaches have introduced human-computer interaction.

Why this project – Active Learning Methods for interactive image retrieval?

In this project we focus on the retrieval of concepts within a large image collection. We assume that a user is looking for a set of images, the query concept, within a database. The aim is to build a fast and efficient strategy to retrieve the query concept. In content-based image retrieval (CBIR), the search may be initiated using a query as an example.

The top rank similar images are then presented to the user. Then, the interactive process allows the user to refine his request as much as necessary in a relevance feedback loop. Many kinds of interaction between the user and the system have been proposed, but most of the time, user information consists of binary labels indicating whether or not the image belongs to the desired concept.

Finally, the image will take the relevant image what the user search. One can see that we have selected concepts of different levels of complexities.

It is used to reduce the computational time. At last it will reduce the control-path latency incurred between issuance of a request and arrival of the corresponding grant.

A Signature-free Buffer Overflow Attack Blocker a Java .Net Project Report

Description:

A Signature-free Buffer Overflow Attack Blocker a Java .Net Project propose SigFree, a real-time, signature-free, out-of the box, application layer blocker for preventing buffer overflow attacks, one of the most serious cyber security threats. SigFree can filter out code-injection buffer overflow attack messages targeting at various Internet services such as web service.

Motivated by the observation that buffer overflow attacks typically contain executables whereas legitimate client requests never contain executables in most Internet services, SigFree blocks attacks by detecting the presence of code. SigFree first blindly dissembles and extracts instruction sequences from a request.

It then applies a novel technique called code abstraction, which uses data flow anomaly to prune useless instructions in an instruction sequence. Finally it compares the number of useful instructions to a threshold to determine if this instruction sequence contains code.

Sigfree Application

SigFree is signature free, thus it can block new and unknown buffer overflow attacks; SigFree is also immunized from most attack-side code obfuscation methods. Since SigFree is transparent to the servers being protected, it is good for economical Internet wide deployment with very low deployment and maintenance cost.

We implemented and tested SigFree; our experimental study showed that SigFree could block all types of code injection attack packets (above 250) tested in our experiments. Moreover, SigFree causes negligible throughput degradation to normal client requests. In existing system Detection of Data Flow Anomalies are in static or dynamic methods, to detect data flow anomalies in the software reliability and testing field.

Conclusion:

Static methods are not suitable in our case due to its slow speed; dynamic methods are not suitable either due to the need for real execution of a program with some inputs. In our proposed project this SigFree, a real-time, signature free, out of- the-box blocker that can filter code-injection buffer overflow attack messages, one of the most serious cyber security threats, to various Internet services.

SigFree does not require any signatures, thus it can block new, unknown attacks. It is immunized from most attack-side code obfuscation methods, good for economical Internet wide deployment with little maintenance cost and negligible throughput degradation and can also handle encrypted SSL messages.

A C++ Mini Project on Controlling Electrical Devices Using Printer Port

Description:

The PC parallel port is a powerful platform, though inexpensive, for implementing projects dealing with the control of real-world peripherals. The hardware circuit developed can be used to control up to 255 electrical appliances using only 8 data output lines from the parallel port. Besides, the software program allows the users to know the current status of the devices.

Project Implementation based on advantages:

C++ Mini Project on Controlling Electrical Devices is developed, the software program and the hardware circuit work interactively to generate appropriate signals to switch the connected devices ‘On’ or ‘Off’. As in the Interface to switch a device On/Off it is required to enter the valid values of bit number.

The hardware works like an On-Off switch according to the signal from the parallel port of the computer. The project has some important applications such as; It can be used for domestic purposes (Offices, schools, hotels etc.). Although Traffic lights are microprocessor controlled, this project can also be employed for controlling the same.

User Friendly – The project has simple and efficient interface so that a person having elementary knowledge about computers and only the introductory knowledge about the system can use it. Easy Handling – Once developed and put to work properly then no further maintenance is required. Machine Independent – The project is totally machine independent.

No special package or hardware is required.

Conclusion:

This project can be made wireless also. Transmitter and receiver can be used with sensors attached at the hardware box and also at the application devices so as to make the system wireless. When the system is ‘On’ the bytes are digitally modulated and then sent at infrared frequencies through transmitter antenna. The receiver at the application devices catches the signal sent by the transmitter antenna and then the signal is demodulated and after demodulation, the corresponding status is read and operation is performed.
