The transducer serves in converting temperature to equivalent electrical signal. ADC is used because microcontroller works on digital inputs.
The microcontroller is connected to the GSM unit via serial communication link and when data is to be sent to GSM unit; it is done through the RS 232 link. There is also the provision of a level translator TTL which decodes the voltage level to the compatible level.
