Android Operating System a C++ Project

Android operating system project is a final year computer science project which is one of the best option for students to implement it as a final year project. As we know Google had entered in to mobile market with android, developing search for mobile operating system will be a challenging for students. This project is developed in C++ language.

Android-Operating-System-a-C++-Project

Android operating system is developed based on Linux kernel. Java is used as a programming language for developing this software. Android will provide easy compiling using ARM native code although software is implemented  in any language. Google along with Open Handset Alliance had developed android system.Mobile search is implemented using C++ language.

Conclusion

By this project, a unique  search engine was presented for effective searching Of information through mobile interface. The engine adopts three methods for retrieval: two autonomous and one combination.

The ontology-based method makes use of the semantic mark-up metadata accompanying each collection where an illustrative user interface is used for graphical query formulation. The content-based method makes use of the low-level visual characteristics of the multimedia material while the hybrid method, which is the main contribution of this work, makes a combined use of the previous two methods for offering a more complete result set to the  user.

Easy access and portability of the system also helps to increase the performance of the system in a better manner.

Future work includes the extension of the hybrid search engine and the integration of additional cultural content. Finally we are investigating the addition of a semantic recommendation engine to be able to make additional query suggestions to the user in an automatic manner

Future Enhancements

Open handset Alliance is confident in reaching there goal by making android a top brand in market by implementing new features in to android phones. Present there are many users who are developing android apps for fill the gap. Intel in collaboration with Google to implement android notebook. So with these collaborations developing apps like search engine for android phone will be a good sign.

With the help of Fujitsu android is moving step forward by implementing android on embedded hardware, with this collaboration Google can move forward in to markets like GPS devices,Cellphones,Mobile internet devices and media players, notebooks and set top boxes.

These were certain limitations of my project if these limitations would have been taken care of project would have been catered to its need in a better way
•    Survey was conducted in 2 days due to which Employees did not get enough time to complete the survey properly.

•    Incidents happening at the time of the survey have affected it.

•    Employees thought that the questionnaire was too big and too specific.

•    Custom insight web portal has a limitation of giving analysis of 10 responses free of cost, so we could not get full fledge report of all the employees together and hence we thought of creating our own report using Ms-Excel.

•    Responses to open ended questions were not been given as the employees were reluctant in giving responses due, to which we could not decipher the exact opinion of the Employees for most of the questions.
Due to the following limitations the desired objective for conducting Employee Satisfaction Survey was not achieved

RECOMMENDATIONS:-

This study recommended some companies and industries on the basis of coefficient of variation. In the case of industries investor better to go for IT industry followed by Banking Industry and if he want to diversify the risk he can go for automobile industry then last preference shall given to Pharmaceutical Industry.

In the case of companies investor wants to invest in more industries and don’t want to give preference for the specific industry. The investor needs to give the preference to the companies on the basis of coefficient of variation. First rank will be Mahindra and Mahindra from Auto industry and next HDFC from Banking Industry. Then give the preference to UTI, NIIT , ICICI, Aurobindo, SBI, TATA, WIPRO, and so on.

Performance Review System MBA HR Project

Performance Review SystemHalcyon Technologies has given me an excellent opportunity of designing a new Performance Appraisal System for their company. It was designed after understanding the Halcyon Environment at whole.

Since my internship was for four months, I could not be a part of the entire Appraisal System but only the Review system.

A customized and relevant Review System was prepared which would fulfill both the needs of Management and Employees. The Self Review Form and Peer Feedback form was designed and then sessions were conducted to make the employees understand the Process and importance of Performance Review. Then as scheduled the one-one meeting between the employee and their respective Team Leader was conducted and the final report was given to HR Manager.

This Review would help Employees in their upcoming Performance Appraisal where the hikes, incentives etc would be based on their targets set at the time of Review.

Objectives of the Study

Halcyon being a start – up company I got the opportunity to design a new Performance Review System under the guidance of HR Manager. The secondary objectives of my study were:

1.    To develop an effective Performance Appraisal system.
2.    To know the Requirements of management regarding the designing of new Appraisal system and Review System.
3.    To help the Employee in understanding the Process of Performance Review.

Findings

as the whole Process was designed by the HR department, I was also involved in it from the designing stage to the implementation part of the Review system. In this process I could recognize the benefits derived out of this system as well as observed some drawbacks.

My Findings from the questionnaire were:

1.    The perception of employees regarding performance Review was a hike in Salary, which is not the case in reality.
2.    After knowing the requirements of employees a training session was conducted to help the employees understand the need and process of Performance Review and Criteria to give Self Rating.
3.    They were aware of the fact that the General Work Behavior would play a major role in their Review but were unaware of all the Standards and Aspects used to Evaluate their Performance

Other Findings:

4.    The process did not take place in the exact time frame as planned and scheduled.
5.    A good improvement was seen in the inter-personal relationship between the team leader and subordinates.
6.    Many employees could not justify the ratings given by them in the Self Review Form.
7.    It helped the employees in understanding their past performance and setting up of targets and goals for future.
8.    They got to understand the organizational needs and it helped in developing a sense of belonging towards the company.
9.    It helped the management in identifying the Caliber of employees and encourage the same.
10.    The employer and employees got a platform to understand each other in a better manner.
11.     The management was too much dependent on team leaders for conducting
Reviews.
12.     When the Peer Feedback Form was given employees were too hesitant in giving ratings to their colleagues.

Recommendations

After the successful completion of the whole Process of Performance Review System MBA HR Project  under the supervision of the HR Manager I.e. by recognizing the need for Review policy, designing the policy, taking up a presentation to explain the importance and process of Review, attending the meetings with the team leader, being a part in discussions by the management regarding appraisals  and analysis of the feedback given by employees helped me to evaluate the benefits and shortcomings of the Performance Review Process and recommend the measures to improve the same.

Hierarchical Bloom Filter Metadata Management .Net Project

Rapid increase in usage of communication network had created a scope for developing Hierarchical Bloom Filter Metadata Management .Net Project to handle cluster data and increase performance of scalable computing. As the usage of network had increased in every field from all over the world which had caused storage problem for a dedicated commercial systems.

HBA-Distributed-Metadata-Management

In a communication network transmitting data is divided in to two categories, User request data and Meta data requests, network should handle both of these data accurately for providing standard performance along all data paths. This project explains about Hierarchical Bloom Filter Arrays which will manage metadata evenly by dividing it between different MS’s.

BF will transfer metadata to different MS’s for decentralizing metadata. Each MS will use different Bf.Metadata will be stored in Ms which is called home MS.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION.

The project entitled as “HBA: Distributed Metadata Management for Large Cluster-Based Storage Systems” developed using .NET using C#. Modules display as follows.

Modules

1. Login
2. Searching Network.
3. Meta Data Creation
4. Searching Files

Module Description

Login module will provide username and password field for users to log into site. Based on valid username and password user can log in to the site. In order to user additional features users should configure with other features.

Searching Network.
This modules main functionality is to search list of computers that are connected in the network and some folders will be used for sharing between networks. Shared folder computers are listed out and metadata will be gathered from these shared folders.

Creating Meta Data.
Creating Metadata module is used to create metadata for all the system files that are connected in network. This module will save all the files in to database. Away form database files are saved in to text file. This procedure will help in reducing long run process of existing system.

Searching Files
Searching files module is used to search files by entering text files. This searching method is different from existing system.  Search is done from database. Initially search is carried through file names.
