Monitoring the application layer DDOS attacks for popular websites project is implemented using AWT swing as front end using MyEclipse tool. Main aim of this project is to implement a document popularity scheme for detecting Distributed denial of service attacks at lower layers, new application layer based DDOS attacks are tough to detect which are caused due to HHTP requests to overwhelm victim resource. These attacks are cad damage popular website during flash crowd. In order to solve this problem we use document popularity scheme which uses access matrix for recognizing spatial temporal patterns of normal flash crowd. In Access matrix two analyses are applied, principal component analysis and independent component analysis. In this scheme we use semi markov model for detecting DDOS attacks.

This application is a browser independent software which works on Internet explorer(IE), Google Chrome, Fire Fox, Opera. This application monitors content when users downloads and uploads content from his browser.

Using this application users can block websites, block web pages which contain unsecured content on fly, redirect website, proxy service, download disabler, application log and report generator.

2. USER ROLES

Users (passengers) have limited action in the application. They can log in, and register if they are a new user. After logging in they can view the buses by entering from and to the location and they can book a number of tickets accordingly.

Project entitled Okut(social networking site) explains about a concept of implementing a social networking site similar to Orkut but with few important features. This project is developed in java platform using socket programming for implementing live chat feature. Before developing this project we studied in detail on every feature that is seen in orkut and tried to duplicate it. Basic difference is orkut works on internet and our application works on LAN. Basic features that are available in orkut are add a friend, write a scrap, add to crush list, writing testimonials and joining to communities..etc. But as a mini project we only implemented few feature like adding friends, posting scraps, live chatting and uploading phots. Similar to orkut users should register with application and get unique username and password to use any features.

Phishing is the process of hacking user’s security information like bank accounts, credit card numbers …etc. In this process users will receive emails with hyperlinks with information like it is sent from banks and when user clicks on links users will be routed to a unknown website which will ask for bank account details like password changes, credit card details. When users enter his details hackers will capture that information at server side and use that information for transferring money from bank accounts. In order to solve this problem we use anti phishing algorithms to block phishing mails.
