Introduction to Advertising Express Project:

It was extremely tedious few years back to inform people about a product or a service, few options such as newspaper, TV, Radio were there but all had a very limited audience. Internet has changed the complete outlook of the classified advertisement sector, now any person can post his or her ads online and obtain a favorable result within minutes of posting. To mix marketing, advertising and media together become more and more easy these days, a global audience is exposed to a user’s ads.

The web portal “Add Express” is an online portal dealing with loads of ads posted under various categories by the user. A user can become both vendor and consumer as they can sell or buy a product from this site.

The project is divided into two main modules: Administrator & User

Administrator Module: Admin can manage and moderate site members; they can also add various categories and sub categories under which ads have to be placed. They can edit or delete these categories and sub categories. An admin can act as a user and can place new ads, yellow page links etc. Admin can generate ad reports created by him or user. Also he can manage the ad works by assigning the tasks like online exams to various employees and also can monitor their status. Admin should also approve everything posted by the user. They should also send regular newsletters to the registered users.

User Module: Users can register with this site and can post or view ads based on various categories. He can search new ads by submitting a new search query under a category or a sub category. Users can also add yellow pages and other site links which would be helpful for other users when they search. User would be also receiving newsletters through mail from the admin. User can create new categories which would be published after admin approval.

Introduction to Library Management System Project:

The proposed project titled “Library Management” is a desktop application to organize the working of a school library. A library may contain thousands and thousands of books; it becomes a tedious process to keep track of all the book flow from time to time. There will be an option to enter books subject wise with other details such as author, edition etc. All the student details are entered with their respective role no: Issue and return of books are noted correctly and entered into the software. The fines paid by the students are also recorded correctly. This software would be very helpful for a librarian or whoever manages the library. A search option would be provided in books and student entry form for easy use.

The whole project is divided into 2 modules: Book Module & Student Module

Book Module

  • Book Details Entry

This part is utilized for entering new book details as per category. Various info such as Book No, ISBN, Author, Subject Publisher, Price, Quantity Purchased etc. are to be added along this part. Can also modify, search or delete books in the same form. 

  • Book Monitoring

A book’s issue and return history can be searched easily. 

Student Module

  • Student Registration

A form is provided to add new Students and their details such as name, id, roll no: , branch etc. Search, update and delete option would also be provided.

  • Book Issue

Books are issued for Student with their ID, issue and due date specified. Present stock of that book can also be displayed along this form.

  • Book Return

Adding the return of the books by the Student, Fines are specified by comparing the return date with the due date. With the return of books the current stock of that particular book is supplemented.

Often bad management at the floor level of a company can lead to disastrous result in the consumer market.   This client-server application allows the top officials of the company to identify the problem areas of a company and helps them to take necessary actions to compensate it. To maintain the production capacity is so important and for that all the machinery should be in super smooth running condition. It is very necessary to analyze the problem areas in the machinery and if it is beyond reparable replace it with new machinery

Downtime analyzer application focuses on mainly four areas.

1)      Identifying the production delays

2)      Prioritizing the maintenance of the defective machinery

3)      Issuing purchase order for buying new product to increase overall efficiency

4)      Overhaul of the current procedures and methodology of the company 

Scheduling of events is important as it saves time, money and energy. Assigning skilled laborers for specific works and bringing the best out of them will always increase productivity.  Since all the downtime capturing is automatic, the manual recording job can be completely avoided which in turn will minimize errors.  Innovative production procedures & new machineries will help to bring in new fleet of product range in the market. The managers of the company; plant manager or production manager would be able to work on the machinery maintenance, work prioritization, adopting innovative procedures to uptime optimization more effectively.  If the admin has to perform the analysis, it is necessary to authenticate first and then send a request to the server for the response and then the analysis is performed.

This online classifieds portal deal with three major module areas:

Real Estate Module: If a user has to buy a land or plot or house, he would have to simply register with the site. Once registered user would be able to search new land deals and also would receive daily updates regarding the same on mail

Matrimony Module: A bride or groom search is simplified with this site, user would have to give the right inputs to choose a suitable bride or groom from a vast uploaded list by other similar users

Introduction to Peer2peer Harnessing Project:

Most of the current network scenario around us relies heavily on client-server architecture. The main advantage of client-server application like the internet is that unlimited data packets can be sent to any nook and corner of the world within milliseconds. In peer to peer network (P2P) there aren’t need for separate servers instead the client system can also be doubled as a server system.  P2P can be setup anywhere anytime, be it at company, home or even online, it just needs systems using same compatible program. The connected systems can share files, browse and even control the operating tools remotely. In P2P network each connected system is termed as a “node”. To make the system accessible to the P2P users, usually a part of the system assets like hard disk space or bandwidth are shared.  The main advantage if a P2P system is that absolutely no servers are required and a single system can act as both sender and receiver. In client server architecture though a client system where a server will send and client will receive only.

Advantages of P2P

  • No separate server is needed for transferring files as a system can act as both client and server
  • With all systems having access to one another it is easy to transfer digital data
  • With more nodes, the performance of a P2P network increases in sharp contrast to what happens in client-server architecture where more clients will actually decrease the server performance.

P2P is evolving from time to time, if it started as a technology but it is now has also involved in social process too. In a distributed network it acts a vital connection.

Two types of P2P networks:

  • Structured P2P Network: Follow certain set of algorithms and would be organized
  • Unstructured P2P Network: No axial system, all peers are connected temporarily with each other

In this modern world more and more people are coordinating with each other to create non-profitable social peers which are commonly known as commons-based peer production.

It would be an extreme tedious process to send files with large memory especially for those who uses low bandwidth internet or those through exchange data’ s through floppy or CD-ROM.  The main objective of this software is to not only encrypt a file data but also to split it into parts in order to send it to another user or join it when the user receives the file and decrypt it. With this we can ensure data security and also can transfer data in a much easier and smoother way.

In the current system with the server being acted as data storage mechanism only leading crucial elements such as validations restricted only within the client system. This was proved to be quite daunting as the client would be in some remote far off place and to transport that amount of data with no data theft was extremely difficult. Since all data’s were not ciphered or encrypted chances of hacking where high. Also the transportation of these data’s took a lot of time and monetarily it was rather unfeasible. The errors may also pop up while the transferring of data which was also unwarranted

The proposed software acts as a solution to the cons of existing system. It is done in Java (jdk 1.5) platform. The data are ciphered from normal text file to ciphered text by using algorithms; as a result the file becomes encrypted and secured. User authentication is also given to make it more secured. The user can then split the file into desired no: of parts and size and transfer it. The other client can give the necessary authentication and can first join the file and then decrypt it using this system. This leaves the file transaction much secured and easier.

This software provide an option for the customers, such that customers are provided with the customer account and provide them with a an printed account ticket or an magnetic card which can be used by the customers in their future. This software also supports POS devices such as receipt printers and also the features like instant recovery of disk partitions, remote screen, and print controls.

All the transactions and actions are recorded into the database which can be viewed as multiple repots. Security feature which is developed specially for this application helps the entire system to be secured, so that cafe manager can rely on it, unused workstation can be securely locked from the managers system such that no other user can access those system without an proper authorization from the manager. Manager can create different access right to different employee. All the data used by the cafe suite are encrypted and stored to the database which ensures that no data can be accessed without an proper authorization. Waiting queue functions are been provided with the software such that manager can put the customers in waiting in case of big traffic.

The nodes considered in this network are supposed to be mobile nodes, that is they move independently and randomly in any direction and speed, This help in updating the topology information frequently.

Nodes in a MANET should communicate with each other within a common channel, so as to provide the network topology. This introduces two main problems like interference and channel contention.

QoS routing protocols are been classified based on:

Network topology (hierarchical or location-aware)

Approach to route discover with QoS (proactive, reactive, hybrid or predictive).
