A GUI Oracle Interface in Java Project

The main aim of A GUI Oracle Interface in Java Project is to create the interface within Java for the GUI tool for improving the efficiency of GUI tool meant for the purpose of installation of ORACLE. In this system different types of aspects related to Java will be used such as Swings, JDBC, SQL plus, AWT as well as Oracle interface. In the total existing tools, GUI tool is happened to be important and efficient because it is a user friendly tool that supports the users in understanding the total commands present within it.

Existing System:

In the existing systems, the SQL Plus which belongs to Oracle is been used for the purpose of installing the database which provides access to the users by using command line interface. By making use of SQL Plus the terminal windows such as Unix and Linux of PC can be accessed but it is difficult to access the existing system to the users who are not having basic knowledge on computer usage.

Proposed System:

In this proposed system, GUI tool is used for the installation of Oracle which is more efficient and user friendly tool when compared with SQL Plus. By making use of this GUI tools users can easily access the system even though they are not having any computer knowledge. By using this GUI tool users can even design, manage and delete the tables and data within the main system database. Without the use of Command line interface all the activities related to data can be easily accessed in this proposed system.

Air travel has become less and less cheaper over the years, as a result the no: of passengers has increased considerably. Unlike a train or bus ticket where we have to stand in a queue besides a counter, air tickets are usually booked online. The proposed system is a web portal where the user can book their air travel tickets between two cities online on a particular date. There will be a provision for searching the flights for a travel destination on an input date, the search result will comprise of the full details such as flight no, flight name, cost, arrival and departure time etc. A cancellation option is also given in case user wishes to abandon his travel for various reasons.

Working Modules

There are two major modules in this web portal: Admin Module and User Module:

Admin Module:

Admin controls and manages the whole portal. Admin adds all basic master entries such as flight details, place details, route details, scheduling etc. Admin can also view user bookings and cancellation of the user.

User Module:

User can search ticket availability first by giving the departure & destination place and the date of travel in the site. Various flights operating on that day on that route will be displayed. If there is seat available on the flight, user will be directed to a booking page where user can type his details such as name, phone, address, no: of persons travelling etc. and also the credit card payment details are entered. The card is then validated and a reservation no: is generated automatically. If there is no seat available in user’s choice flight then other alternate flights will be shown to book tickets. For cancellation the user has to type the travel date, user name and the reservation no: for validation.

Changes made by both modules get effected in the user and admin databases.

The project is divided into two main modules: Administrator & User

Administrator Module: Admin can manage and moderate site members; they can also add various categories and sub categories under which ads have to be placed. They can edit or delete these categories and sub categories. An admin can act as a user and can place new ads, yellow page links etc. Admin can generate ad reports created by him or user. Also he can manage the ad works by assigning the tasks like online exams to various employees and also can monitor their status. Admin should also approve everything posted by the user. They should also send regular newsletters to the registered users.

User Module: Users can register with this site and can post or view ads based on various categories. He can search new ads by submitting a new search query under a category or a sub category. Users can also add yellow pages and other site links which would be helpful for other users when they search. User would be also receiving newsletters through mail from the admin. User can create new categories which would be published after admin approval.
