Introduction to Technical Seminar on Echo Cancellation:
The paper is about Echo Cancellation. The types of echo include the Acoustic echo and the Hybrid echo. Echo cancelers are used as the transmission equipment in case of complex networks. The new digital network has reflected an efficient change in the operation of the echo cancelers The network operators which were implementing echo cancellation across the networks are capable of improving the call quality so that the network performance can be increased and also results in reducing the subscriber churn.
The types of echo include Acoustic Echo: which is generated using Analog as well as the digital handsets, the degree of the echo depends on the type and also the quality of the equipment which is being used. Hybrid Echo: it is generated electrically, which are created as the voice signals and are transmitted over the network via the hybrid connection so that the electric energy is reflected back to the speaker from the circuit.
When the Analog and digital phones are being operated on hands-free mode then apart from the acoustic echo even the background noise is also generated by the network. These additional sounds are captured by the microphone either directly or indirectly and multi-path audio is created and then the audio is transmitted to the talker back once again. The digital processing delays and the technique which is based on speech compression are responsible for the echo generation and the quality of voice can be affected in case of the wireless networks.
We can conclude that the Echo cancelers are used as the transmission equipment in case of complex networks. The new digital network has reflected an efficient change in the operation of the echo cancelers.
