In this seminar we will discuss about java ring which can be used to perform a number of personalized services. Java ring is device which consists of memory and microprocessor and it can store various applets which work by using a java virtual machine which belongs to java platform.
The java ring device was designed by Dallas Semiconductor Corporation in the year 1998. In this paper we will discuss how the java rings are designed and the devices used for its working.
Brief on java ring:
The java ring is made of stainless steel and it is of 16 millimeters in diameter and it consists of an ibutton. The ibutton consists of microprocessor which is made of transistors and the java ring consists of 32kb of read only memory, 134 kb of random accesses memory, real time clock and a java virtual machine.
The java virtual machine supports the various platforms for processing the applications on the other platforms. The java ring has random access memory which is used for storing the program and data of the application which is to be performed.
The real time clock is made of 32 hertz crystal oscillator which regulates the time of the ibutton irrespective of the processor clock and it controls the execution of the ibutton. Here a blue dot receptor is used which is used for performing the read and write cycle of the ibutton.
The blue dot receptor will be placed and the user can access the device by pressing the signet of the java ring on the receptor by which the application program gets detected.
These java rings can also be used for designing locking systems of the vehicles. The java rings are more secured and we can use them in wide range of embedded applications.
