RFID Based Attendance System Project

RFID based Attendance System Project is implemented using AT89S52 microcontroller in the controlling section.

Project Abstract:

The main objective of RFID Based Attendance System Project  is developing an error free Radio Frequency Identification based security and attendance system to eliminate the manual operations. The main components used in this system are antenna or coil; transceiver coupled with decoder and specifically programmed RF tags acts as a transponder.

RFID technology:

RFID is meant for Radio Frequency Identification. And mainly works in two modes one is reader mode and the other is transponder mode. The evolution of this technology had started from bar code implementation for automatically identifying and tracking products. And these RFID systems are assembled for various purposes like Contact less Payment Systems, access controlling, and Product Tracking and Inventory Control systems.

 RFID tags:

The data is transferred by means of RFID tags, the power for the tags are obtained from the electromagnetic field by means of micro chip. The voltage is caused due to the resultant interaction of RF fields at the transceiver antenna. This phenomenon is used for the transfer of data to the reader.

Components:

  • Antenna: In order to emit the radio signals for the activation of radio frequency tags to read and write the data. Antennas act as an interface between the transceiver and the tags.
  • Transponders: These acts as the carriers for the wireless data transfer between n the antenna and the reader. These are provided with a micro chip internally.
  • RF Transceiver: The power source for the RFID tags and the transceiver filters and amplifies the back scatter signal from a passive RFID tag.
