Introduction to PC Based Robot Controlling Using Wireless Communication With Ask Modulation Project:

This paper represents the design and implementation with experimental results of a PC based robot controlling using radio frequency based wireless communication system with ask modulation,  in this the directions of the robot is controlled by the computer, the receiver section had an control units which regulates the mechanical movements of the robot based on the commands from the PC, the transmitter section holds the computer and an 8051 micro controller used to control the operations based radio frequency communication system, wireless communication is becoming very popular in these days in industrial, medical, household applications, due to the rapid development in embedded systems an rapid advancement had taken place in the field of very reliable wireless communications.

The system in our project consists of a transmitter section and a receiver section, the transmitter section comprises of an micro controller, radio frequency transmitter with PC, serial communication using MAX 232 level converter is used to interface the 8051 micro controller with the PC, the purpose of the serial commutation is to transfer data in two ways i.e. parallel and serial data transfers, by using an input keyboard device we can pass commands to the robot from PC through this transmitter section, the receiver module receives the data by the help of RF transmitter.

The micro controller passé the data to the transmitter antenna by means of RF transmitter and the receiver antenna receives the signals, based on this signals the micro controller in the robot operates, the specified actions and operations are programmed in to the micro controller. We use two dc motors in order to drive the robot in both directions.

This sample kit operates at a regulated 5v dc power supply, for that we use an step down transformer coupled with an full bridge rectifier and an voltage regulator,  the components and schematic operation is clearly explained in the upcoming sections with their implementation and performance characteristics.

This paper presents a new concept in remote monitoring control of electrical equipment through a web based networking technology, these internet based control systems are gaining enormous attention in these days, in order to provide protection for the power systems, here in this paper we developed a real time  smart controlling device based on the utilization of web, these systems are designed to  provide protection for in house engineering and production systems with most advanced controlling capabilities, i.e. equipment protection by means of modem communications.

In these days power management is done through the enhancement of net, in order to minimize the loss in the costly electrical equipment by energy management via web based controlling, in this project we provided an advanced architecture for the users in controlling the remote monitoring power systems, it is an simulation based concepts  provides the real time applications in web based laboratory work, these simulation studies helps to develop an sophisticated virtual control systems for electrical appliances safety, in modern days power monitoring electrical systems involves in measurement of continuous varying electrical parameters, so  we need to find the a device to operate the electrical network under normal and abnormal conditions,  this system consists of  three main interfaces, Presentation tier,  Application tier,  Data base tier .

In presentation tier we communicate with the device trough web browser, this tier is programmed using a java script, and in application tier we had an web server and an application logic for the control of electrical devices, where as data base tier built based on Relational Data Base Management System (RDBMS) to facilitate higher flexibility, reusability, multiple task management.

The entire circuit operation with real time applications are clearly explained in the upcoming sections, this circuit is an ideal choice for the user willing to achieve low power consumption for monitoring operations with reduction in cost. In future decision making can be done by computers by implementing visual basic language.

Out Door Wireless Health Care Monitoring System For Patients Based On ZIGBEE Project Report

This paper addresses a new technology in the field of bio medical sciences; it is a wireless patient monitoring system based on the ZIGBEE concept, as far doctor’s point of view it is a system which saves times by implementing multiple tasks at a time virtually rather than regular manual operations, due to the rapid advancement of wireless communications technologies in the field of medical sciences paved path for the invention of this wireless health care monitoring system, this system acts as an direct connection between doctor and the patient.

This ZIGBEE concept is derived from the embedded systems, ZIGBEE is a high level communication protocol by using small and low power radio based devices for critical latency devices, this new concept is highly reliable, with self healing phenomenon, with long battery life, multiple nodal accesses which can be globally implemented, now the main requirements for our wireless ZIGBEE monitoring systems are node architectures, Real-time data acquisition and analysis, Interoperability with reliable and robustness.

This system architecture consists of an automatic monitoring system for monitoring the varying physiological parameters of the patient such as body temperature, pulse rate and heart beat with recorded information, an communication system for the transfer of these parameters between the patient and the monitoring doctors, this system is provided with the body temperature sensors to sense the changing conditions of the body temperature, and it is connected to the GSM/GPRS or with the Land Line internet service to transmit signals, in the base station the relay senses the signals and transmits to the monitoring systems, the entire hardware and soft ware assembly  with components specification was neatly explained in the block diagram section.

The results obtained in the verification experiments of this sample kit revealed that it is a better solution over the existing monitoring systems with better accuracy, proper security, speed and high flexibility, robust and ideal in meeting health care needs.

This paper presents a unique methodology in remote patient monitoring system by a combination of communication system and body sensors, it is a new methodology in monitoring the parameters of the patients on a single display unit based on networking technology, this Patient monitoring systems consist of equipment, devices which not only measures and display’s the parameters but also gives recorded information about the Physiological conditions like, blood pressure, body temperature, heartbeat, pulse rate, respiration rate and other health-related information. And various details about bodily substances like Cholesterol, glucose, hemoglobin, blood platelets.

And a continuous supervision can be assured by the doctors by sitting in his room only, monitoring the present and past conditions of the patients, the data is obtained by a processing module. In any emergency case where an immediate attention of doctor required these remote monitoring systems are the ideal solution, these can be globally implemented by using networking technologies, these multi parameter monitor systems can display multiple signs on the single display unit by dividing into sections  on the screen.

In our project we used RS485 based networking system; it has one main and three auxiliary systems which are internally connected by RS485 protocol. The main system consists of a microcontroller, serial data communication cable between PC and circuitry, and integrated RS485 communication module.  The auxiliary dependent unit consists of a microcontroller, sensors and RS485 communication cable.

 This auxiliary unit receives analog data from the sensors and stores in its memory, when ever main unit requires data it sends commands to the auxiliary devices and sends these values to computer through serial commutation, these values are displayed on the screen by implementing a visual basic program. It is a virtual monitoring system where doctor supervises the conditions of patient through PC. By increasing the total drives of RS485 protocol we can achieve an increased number of patients monitoring.

Due to rapid advancement of multi sensing technologies in the field of communication systems and navigational devices, these multi sensing systems have found enormous applications; here in our project we provide a smart vision prototype is a globally navigational aid for guiding the blind and visually impaired people, it is small, low cost, easily wearable navigational system. 

These systems can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications it supreme functionality is to provide an Clear-Path Indication, here we use an ultrasonic sensor for eliminating obstacles, these ultra sonic sensors are placed in the eye glasses and the transmitter section is placed in the walking stick, for transmitting the information to receiver when ever any obstacle is found in the path the receiver receives the signals from the transmitter.

which are placed in the either side of the stick, to give warnings from both sides; in this project we use a voice recorder with an speaker to give the vocal information for the user,  in this system we increased the range of operation up to 250cm by implementing ultra sonic obstacle sensors, the hardware of our system consist of  an micro controller (rabbit processor-RCM 3100), obstacle sensor, ultra sonic transmitter and receiver, signal processing unit with voice board, its comprised of embedded c on an Kiel cross compiler. In this project the hard ware connections in between the rabbit processor and the ultrasonic sensors with voice recorders are clealy explained in the schematic diagram.

We implemented a dynamic C with RCM3100 module for rapid creation and debugging of the runtime applications creates a new environment in dynamic C development. This interface facilitates fast editing, compiling, debugging and loading. So far we provided a sample model for the navigation of visually handicapped people by introducing additional advanced technologies we can achieve sophisticated results.

Wireless communications are developing rapidly in recent days with the help of embedded systems in modern day applications, these integrated embedded systems paved path for the development of the revolutionary concept ZIG-BEE monitoring and controlling devices, these low data rate devices find many applications in the fast data communication systems.

By using this technique we can connect several nodes into a single network, the standard expectations of this concept is to control any kind of electronic devices and machines, in order to maintain proper energy management we demonstrated the ZIG-BEE concept having an ZIG-BEE module which continuously monitors the connected devices, ZIG-BEE arrived  in order to meet the requirements like global license free ISM band width operations, un interrupted geographic use, radio frequency penetration into various mediums, voice support control systems,  these systems are capable of working for years using inexpensive power utilities in controlling and monitoring devices, reliable and self healing, these networking techniques are robust with low complexity in remote monitoring control systems.

The human transporter is a two wheeled electrical vehicle can able to transport persons from one place to other and also equipment  it is an innovative eco friendly driving system capable of drawing loads up to 75 kilo grams, and runs at speed up to 12.5 mph, at a range of 11 miles for every single charge powered batteries (UPS), it was an self balancing systems uses highly sophisticated micro processors, dc gear motors, angle tilt sensors.

 Whenever a person stands on the limbs of the transporter the tilt sensor gets activated and the vehicle moves forward in order to get its previous balanced condition, it governs the movements of human body it replaces wheels instead of legs and dc drives instead of muscles, and electricity instead of energy, micro processor instead of brain and sensors instead of human eye.

Due to the rapid advancement of embedded systems in the field of control systems had begun to invent new technologies one of its application paved path for the invention of human transporter, it uses infra red sensors to sense the path for human travel without any obstacles, the displaying unit presents information about the varying conditions in the surroundings, and works as the user guide for the traveler.

This device operates under two operational modes,  manual  mode and auto mode in manual mode the traveler provided with an key pad in front of him to give directions while in the other hand in auto mode the transporter works based on the prescribed path which is already programmed in it, drives humans automatically, various tests were conducted  for the transporter for knowing its battery strength, load capacity, speed variations, performance limits, operations under varying conditions, these  transport systems are free from collisions by implementing obstacle avoidance technology. These ground population systems are the future for the human transportation with safe driving capabilities.

This paper presents a new advanced technology, prepaid energy meter, these meter became an innovative solution for the cost utilities and in this system the users should pay before the use, the main objective of this project is to provide an energy meter that generate pulses in accordance with the varying load this can be used for tariff calculations and it is also known as smart card energy meter, now a days the measurement of electrical energy and billing according with the usage became a prime feature in the electrical boards, the conventional methods used in these days are in effective in terms of accuracy.

So we provided a new concept, by using these energy meters at  the consumer locations made very easy to access power to the each consumer comfortably with reduced man power, and the consumption rates are determined accurately,  this is the advanced technology in automatic reading meters, which calculates not the consumption rates but also calculates the amount in currency, it has three interfacing one is metering interface, the other is monitoring interface, and the third one is communication interface.

This metering has an LED facility which shows information on credits available with an alarm which the utilization of these credits in decremented form. The communication interface is provided with infra red interface for credits transfer, relay control. This modern prepaid meter is robust, flexible, multi tariff billing, power factor detecting and imparting, easily upgraded, high reliable with maximum accuracy at low power consumption.  

The design with individual component representation with their characteristics and features are elaborated in this paper and verification results are tabulated.  This energy meter is rectifying the conventional billing strategies by the concept pay before use; the only thing needed for this implementation is social acceptability, and for proper execution regular management in load, demand aspects.

Laser Torch-Based Voice Transmitter And Receiver

Introduction to Laser Torch-Based Voice Transmitter And Receiver Project:

In this paper we demonstrate a new revolutionary concept in the field of fiber optic communication systems, with the implementation o lasers in the field of optical communication had created new dimensions in the advancement of virtual communication, in conventional radio frequency communication systems we find limitations like high interference with less secrecy, and with less data rate transfer.

In this wireless communication era in order to communicate with others at low cost with high accuracy, lasers based communication is the only answer, here laser torch is used as the carrier for the signals, this signals are transmitted by means of  laser beam. It is similar to fiber optic cable system but only difference is instead of optical fiber we use lasers here.

 This system consist of two sections one is transmitter section, and the other receiver section, the transmitter which is operated at 9v comprises of a condenser MIC which take the audio signals and this audio signal is coupled along with the laser beams and transmitted into the space, the receiver takes these signals, this laser based receiver is an NPN photo transistor which amplifies the low power low amplitude audio signal by using an common emitter audio frequency amplifier, and feeds into receiver speaker.

This entire summary of the components used and the designing criteria is briefly explained in this paper, our laser based communication had many advantages in economical prospective with low cost, no additional investment for future communication, secure data transmission maintaining privacy, these lasers can transmit data in any medium with high data rate, these lasers are mono chromatic and coherent with narrow beam divergence making this system a highly reliable in modern wireless communication systems, our project is very useful in offices, conference halls.

We had successfully implemented this project and desired results had obtained by using high range lasers our will be the future for satellite communications.

Automatic Street Light Control Using LDR MicroController Project Report

Introduction to Automatic Street Light Control Using LDR MicroController Project:

The main objective of this paper is to provide a better solution to minimize the electrical wastage in operating street lights, in this electronic era human became restless and he is not in a position to regulate the manual operations in any field, a rapid advancement in embedded systems had paved path for the virtual mechanisms based on micro controllers, this paper presents an automatic street light controller using light dependent resistor(LDR) which is also known as photo resistor made cadmium sulfide.

These systems operate in accordance with the varying  sun light, whenever there is sufficient light in surroundings this LDR exhibits high resistance and acts as an insulator, while in darkness this LDR behaves as low resistance path and allows the flows of electricity, this LDR’s operates with the help of  IR sensors, these sensors are activated under low illumination conditions and these are controlled by an AT89C51 micro controller, every basic electronic circuit will operate under regulated 5v dc, so need to step down the 230v ac into 12v ac by means of an step down transformer, this 12v ac is to converter into 5v dc by using an bridge rectifier, and this controlled output from the voltage regulator is sent to the operational kit.  

The heart of this circuit is the low power, high performance 8051 micro controller is programmed by embedded assembly programming language for implementing these tasks; this program is stored and operated by means of storage device EPROM, while coming to the functional block i.e. LDR, these LDR’s are in expensive, smaller in size, less complexity, highly reliable, low power applications, minimum risk with greater accuracy.

Our project is successfully implemented in many areas based on the experimental verification proving that it can save the electrical power to greater extent removing the manual work completely; this system became the origin for upcoming advanced intelligent systems in saving both human and electrical power.
