–    According to the study maaza holds good brand image, brand awareness and average market share in fruit drink category from the study we can conclude that retailers are showing interest to stock and sell maaza but the company has to improve its margin, distribution, promotional strategies, brand building, brand awareness and brand image for some of the products to improve the its market share.
–    By this study we can say that maaza holds around 30% of the market share in fruit drink segment.
–    Coca-cola should consider and formulate some strategies in order to reduce the market share of other domestic and international water and soda brands.
–    Coca-cola should concentrate on distribution of the brand.
–    According to the study the retailers want promotional offers to promote and increase the market share of maaza tetra pack.

Arbitrage Trade Analysis of Stock Trading In NSE and BSE MBA Project

Objectives of the Study:

–    The objective of the Arbitrage Trade Analysis of Stock Trading In NSE and BSE MBA Final Year Project study is to analyze the possibility of taking advantage of arbitrage mechanism of the blue chip scrip’s of core sectors of Indian economy, traded in BSE and NSE.
–    Ten blue chip scrip of five core sectors are studied for evaluation.
–    The share prices of these scrip’s are being taken for analysis for the period of two months, October 2007 and November 2007.
–    Closing prices of each share in the two exchanges are taken for analysis.
–    The difference in the prices is analyzed for any scope of arbitration.

Conclusion:

The study shows that none of the studied ten scripts give any scope for arbitration. The reason is explained below. The scripts are studied for arbitration for a period of two months “OCT-07 and NOV-07”
ARBITRAGE TRADE ANALYSIS OF STOCK TRADING IN NSE AND BSEICICI stock prices in Oct-07 are in the range of rs 1016 and rs 1257, the difference in prices are rs 6.65 and rs 8.75.The maximum difference is less than 1 percent, so not beneficial for arbitration purposes.
ICICI prices in Nov-07 are in the range of rs 1103 and rs 1333, the difference in prices are 18.45 and 6.95.The difference is more than 5 percent, so beneficial for arbitration purposes.
HDFC stock prices in Oct-07 are in the range of rs 1357 and rs 1653, the difference in prices are rs 13.90 and rs 3.15.and in Nov-07 are in the range of rs 1475 and rs 1770, the difference in prices are 14.65 and 4.30.The difference is more than 5 percent, so beneficial for arbitration purposes.
TCS stock prices in Oct-07 are in the range of rs 757 and rs 830, the difference in prices are rs 7.65 and rs 5.60.and in Nov-07 are in the range of rs 686 and rs 755, the difference in prices are 4.80 and 4.10.The difference is less than 1 percent, so not beneficial for arbitration purposes.
AIRTEL prices in Oct-07 are in the range of rs 928 and rs 1127, the difference in prices are 10.15 and 5.15.The difference is more than 5 percent, so beneficial for arbitration purposes

I collected weekly average prices of HDFC, ICICI BANK AND NIFTY for the period of APR 2006-MAR 2007.

Conclusion:

1.    During the period 2006-07, there was high correlation between Nifty and ICICI, HDFC, Andhra Bank, Vijaya Bank
2.    During this period, all the selected banks Retunes and NSE Nifty returns are moving in same track.
3.    During this period, there is more volatility in Returns of Stock and Market.
4.    During the 6th month, the Returns of ICICI (y) is 2.01 where as the Returns of Nifty (x) is 5.79, there is sudden surge.
5.    During the 3rd month, the Returns of Vijaya Bank (y) is 74.08 where as Nifty (x) is 21.73 only, there was sudden fall in market.

According to Sharpe Measurement the following are the conclusion:

Equity Fund Dividend Scheme

The SBI Fund, as per Sharpe measurement is ranked one. Whereas HDFC Fund got second rank. The SBI Fund is got third rank whereas JM financial fund got fourth rank.
Equity Fund Growth Scheme
UTI Fund is placed first rank, JM financial Fund and HDFC Fund share second and third ranks respectively and SBI IVth rank. Comparing with market return all Funds is very low returns.

Balanced Fund Dividend:

As per Sharpe measurement, JM financial fund is ranked One, SBI fund is ranked two and UTI fund is ranked Three and HDFC fund Forth rank. By comparing with market return all the funds are getting very low returns.

Balanced Fund Growth

According to Sharpe model SBI fund is placed First ranked, JM financial fund and UTI fund share Second and Third ranks and HDFC Forth rank respectively. Comparing with market return all the funds are very low.
By comparing al the schemes .i.e., SBI, UTI and HDFC, JM financial funds that the all scheme is troubling more then  the all schemes.

SUGGESTIONS

The section tries to present certain suggestions. The suggestions emerge from the observations made on the performance positions of various funds taken for the study.

It was observed that as per Sharpe performance measurement for the equity fund dividend scheme, the equity fund growth lagging behind. Therefore it is advised to re-organize the balanced fund dividend and balanced fund growth investment so as to make more returns.

In case of equity fund growth, balanced fund dividend may consider to re-organize it’s investment as it is lagging far behind when compared to this portfolio to take the advantage of more returns from the pharmaceutical sector.

In the equity fund dividend analysis, the balanced fund placed in second position, therefore this fund may consider reconstruction of this investment take the advantage of more returns from the pharmaceutical sector.

All the equity fund growth in comparison to the other funds is not advisable for investment as per present analysis.

The investors are advised to invest their funds in any equity dividend mutual fund.
