Relief maps are generally required for military purposes, land use and town planning works. These maps are generally prepared as solid blocks, and are hand made. Some difficulties and impossibilities due to sharp height differences may be inescapable in thecourse of production of these maps. Hence, 3D Model maps usind CAD CAM systems are used to design and manufacture them.

These maps are usually prepared as solid blocks, and their production are usually done by hand.Therefore, their metric correctness, soundness and production time entirely depends on human factor and the base material being used. During the production of these maps, presentation of very small details such as sharp changes in height may require some exaggerations due to difficulties in cutting,carving and sticking the materials.

CONCLUSION

The releif maps designed in this project, usind CAD CAM system are very useful inresearch work and also for solid model production in architecture and town planning works.

  • Many birds rely on the tide uncovering the mud flats so that they can feed.
  • Only provides power for around 10 hours each day, when the tide is actually moving in or out.

Smart materials are one among those unique materials, which can change its shape or size simply by adding a little bit of heat, or can change from a liquid to a solid almost instantly when near a magnet. These materials include piezoelectric materials, magneto-rheostatic materials, electro-rheostatic materials, and shape memory alloys (SMA’s).  Shape memory alloys (SMA’s) are metals, which exhibit two very unique properties, pseudo-elasticity (an almost rubber-like flexibility, under-loading), and the shape memory effect (ability to be severely deformed and then return to its original shape simply by heating).

Advantages:

  • Biocompatibility.
  • Diverse Fields of Application.
  • Good Mechanical Properties (strong, corrosion resistant).

Disadvantages:

  • Relatively expensive to manufacture
  • Have poor fatigue problem
  • Cannot survive for more cyles unlike a steel component.

When calculations are made it is found that this method is generating power such that ,  a fraction off out put is sufficient to run the ship and the left over power can be made use of

The MnKibben muscles use Electro Active Polymers (EAP) as sensors, which simplify a robotic finger models by acting like an actuator (sensor cum actuator). Ion-exchange Polymer Metal Composite (IPMC). Even these are dicussed in this project in detail.

The project presents solutions to certain problems in the McKibben muscles.Adroit use of the solutions provided in this project abets researchers to produce highly efficient artificial muscles system which consume “less energy & oxygen” than a natural one. Therefore “World’s Most Energy Efficient Robot” is discussed in this project with its innovative ideas.

Artificial muscles Years from   now,  the  McKibben   muscles  could  also  conceivably   replace   damaged  human muscles, leading to partially “bionic men” and “bionic women” of the future.

Neural Networks in Advanced Manufacturing Technology

This Neural Networks in Advanced Manufacturing Technology proposes a method of intelligent controlling of injection molding using Neural Network based control unit.

Neural Networks offer pattern recognition based intelligent control. They process data in a parallel manner and thus they are very fast.Since neural networks learn solely based on training data it is possible to obtain inverse models of manufacturing process by simply obtaining the training data from a process model and presenting it to the neural networks in an inverse manner.

This simulation of neural network control scheme may be done by using soft wares like MATLAB, TG MOLD etc, This  project  uses “FORWARD MODELLING”of neural   network .

The aim is to identify the feasibility of obtaining an intelligent control scheme that can learn the inverse model of a manufacturing process and react in a real-time to take corrective actions during fabrication.

CONCLUSION:

The project demonstrates the capabilities of this process model/Neural Network based control unit in several experiments that integrate the control method with a reliable flow progression sensing sub system .
