Brain Fingerprinting Project Abstract:
Introduction:-It is developed by Lawrence Farwell. Is an investigative technique that measure electrical brain wave that responds to words, pictures etc. it’s one of the application is lie detection by measuring brain waves response to crime revalent words by a fitted headband.
What is Brain Fingerprinting: – This technique can be applied if investigators have sufficient information about event. In it the word “guilty” is to be react strongly to event word or pictures. This technology uses special electronic sensors placed on the headband that measure electroencephalography from many parts of the brain.
Application:-
1. It use in Counter terrorism, to identify the terrorist which have participated in attack.
2. It is use in Criminal justice, to determine who has committed crime
3. It also used in medical to know by using event related words and pictures to know whether the information is still present in brain or not.
4. It has additional use in advertising and in insurance industry.
Comparison with other technologies:-Like fingerprint and DNA matching with evidence at the crime scene, brain fingerprinting also matches crime scene pictures with the information present in the brain, there may be fingerprint and DNA not present at crime scene but the brain is always present.
Admissibility of Brain Fingerprinting in court: – The brain fingerprinting is not established in the court yet but it had gain acceptance in the scientific community. In it the rate of error is very low.
Record of 100% Accuracy: – At its first time application the scientist have recorded 100% accuracy in identifying FBI agents through brain response to the picture and words related to FBI.
Conclusion: – It is a good technology of scientist for solving many cases, to save innocent person from crimes. It fulfills the urgent need of government, investigators by solving cases easily.
